Lift Off!

Here's the straight recap on last night with pics.
More thoughts and some video yet to come....

Waiting

We made it to the General Admission line by about 10am. It was great to spend the day relaxing near the lake with so many wonderful U2 fans. We each took several walks. I enjoyed the rare solitude those moments provided. It was lovely to feel unburdened. Little people are lovely, but it was nice to have a whole day free from them even if it meant baking in the sun all day. By about 3pm we were really hot and restless. Even in this photo taken a bit after lunch you can tell we are getting a little weary.

Snow Patrol

We got into the Stadium around 5pm or so. We got right into the inner circle about 4th row from the stage with some other fans we had been hanging out with a bit. One couple seemed to really know their way around the G.A. routines. They were super great. Thanks guys! We made our last bathroom runs and waited. The excitement wore off again around 6pm. When Snow Patrol came on we were able to forget our aching feet and get back into the scene. They held their own on the big stage and really entertained the crowd. While I can't claim to be their biggest fan, I was only familiar with a couple of songs I really enjoyed their performance. I'll have to go give them another listen.Plus they were drinking Magner's Cider while they performed. Though it made me really thirsty.

Sometime later (I stopped checking the time) our band finally came on. Yay! Here are:

U2 360 Sunday the 13th 2009

See now we're REALLY happy! The spaceship is behind us and we are taking off...

This was how close we were to the Edge. It was awesome! Watching him play was pretty amazing. I loved watching his focus and concentration too. So into it. Beautiful.
Singing One

Bono on the bridge that moved right over our heads! Very impressive.
Who thought of that? Excellent. Really excellent.

Great photo of the Edge during Your Blue Room I think.
Side note, it was the first time they've performed Your Blue room live.
It's my favorite from Passengers.

Bono with his green guitar. Look how close!

We had a great night. It was quite an experience. I don't think I could ever see them again without doing General Admission. The energy of the crowd was fabulous.

Thanks Dad for the tickets...
Thanks U2 fans for the camaraderie...
Thanks U2 for an amazing night...
